♫♪  Arthur King Presents: Peter Walker, David Ralicke, Danny Frankel - King Ming

Among the three of them, Pater Walker, David Ralicke, and Danny Frankel have a Wrecking Crew-worth résumé of sidemen credits to show. Besides having worked with anyone from Lou Reed and John Cale to Fiona Apple and Lucinda Williams, the multi-instrumentalists share a creative playground as Arthur King & The Night Sea, an eight-piece outfit that proves that melding ambient with reggae might not be a ridiculous idea after all. Now, as part of the “Arthur King Presents” series on Dangerbird Records (who Walker is a co-founder of), the three come together for an album limited in personnel but just as expansive in sound.

Released today, King Ming finds the three artists (Walker on drums, guitars, and keyboards, Ralicke contributing horns, and Frankel providing unorthodox percussive flourishes) collaborating on a fresh, lively, uncompromising avant-garde LP; an LP that, through its energetic, heavily amplified fusion of dub, funk, and electronica, comes close to post-rock’s original ideals of perfect Ethno jazz and punk harmony.
