Demdike Stare return with new album Passion, out today

Look, you know the drill: aberrant angular abstractists Demdike Stare are back with a new album (or whatever a “double-pack” is) called Passion on Modern Love, and it’s out NOW.

Early reports say it has all the hard utility of the club and enough grainy modulation and whiplash edits for the notoriously hard-to-charm gallery crowd (my personal favorite of the classic electronic music demographics). Though recording for the new LP began soon after 2016 stunner Wonderland, press copy notes that fans of the duo’s Testpressing series will find much the same spirit at work in Passion, and as always, I’ll just take their word for it!

Check out a sample of the usefully-titled-for-new-record-announcement-post album cut “At It Again” below, alongside a full tracklisting. You can also grab the record here, especially if you’re anglin’ for one of those new-fangled clear vinyl 2xLP packs (limited to an edition of 500). So go kick your Friday into high-gear before Saturday comes around and you realize you spent a whole day on a lower gear than you should have!
