DJ Spinn announces first release in four years, Da Life EP on Hyperdub, shares “U Ain’t Really Bout Dat Life”

DJ Spinn has announced his return to new release shelves and trending playlists everywhere. His latest project is called Da Life EP, and it’s out through Hyperdub on October 18.

The earth has done a lot of spinning of its own since last we heard word from Teklife cofounder DJ Spinn; technically speaking, it’s been four revolutions around the sun since he released his 2015 projects Off That Loud and the Jessy Lanza/Taso collab You Never Show Your Love EP. And while revolutions aren’t technically “spins,” I suspect radical pedant and noted TMT follower Neil Degrasse Tyson will forgive us the error when he hears that DJ Spinn is back with new music for the first time in four years.

And why wait any longer? DJ Spinn has shared a track from the forthcoming EP called “U Ain’t Really Bout Dat Life,” and it’s very vibey and lowkey with the footwork rhythms. Check it out below, alongside the tracklisting. Pre-order Da Life EP here while it spins.

Da Life EP tracklisting:

01. Knock a Patch Out (Dirty)
02. Knock a Patch Out (Clean)
03. Sky Way feat. DJ Manny
04. Make Her Hot
05. U Ain’t Really Bout Dat Life
