Getting lost in the desert, per se, is usually not recommended. In fact getting lost in the desert is probably one of the most simultaneously dangerous and boring activities you can do.

Unless, of course, you are getting lost in the new collaborative visual album by Swedish psych-lords Dungen and Brooklyn guitar slingers Woods called Marfa Myths 003 which was inspired (natch) by imagery of the desert around Marfa, TX.

In fact, the album came together at the 2017 Marfa Myths Festival when Woods and Dungen bunkered down in a house on the outskirts of Marfa to write and record an album inspired by their surroundings. (This year’s Marfa Myths will continue the tradition of the collaborative album with Cate Le Bon and Bradford Cox holing themselves up to see what emerges as well as performances from Equiknoxx, Wire, Circuit Des Yeux, Laraaji and loads more.)

Dungen and Woods’ Marfa Myths 003, meanwhile, is now streaming on the Marfa Myths website until the 2018 Marfa Myths Festival kicks off on April 12.

But if zoning out to pristine psychedelia set to the scenery of Marfa is a little too immersive for you, you can also just pre-orderMarfa Myths 003 from Mexican Summer ahead of its imminent release THIS FRIDAY (March 16) and check out the album’s opening “Loop” down below:
