Ekoplekz cultivates new album Bioprodukt for Planet Mu
Mmm: 100% Organic Lo-fi Electronic Sludge.

Make room on those summertime barbecue playlists, because Planet Mu’s resident lo-fi beatmaster Ekoplekz is back after seeding, fertilizing, and nurturing a brand new album called Bioprodukt. The LP is set to land on store-shelves June 16 through Planet Mu, which means you’ll have enough time to appreciate just how empty your life is without the album before you get your hands on it.

Like all things worth a damn, Bioprodukt was inspired in-part by the timeless sounds of the 1990s (a.k.a. the golden age of electronic music and agrarian living). The album supposedly emulates “the bleep and bass sound of the north of England” and “the acid gurgles of the 303” for 10 GMO-free tracks of “chilled grooves” and “dirt-encrusted slow-mo techno meltdowns.” Refreshing!

If you can’t wait for the whole, eco-friendly affair to be harvested and sent to market, don’t worry: Planet Mu have shared an early taste in the form of the hazy, gurgling grooves of “Acrid Acid,” which you can experience at your leisure below. As you listen, picture yourself relaxing in a quilted hammock at the beach, glistening in the sun, and biting into an entire green bell pepper. Ahh, the feeling of summer…
