And you thought this was going to be the year Mac DeMarco was going to take a little time off to putter around the house, do a spot of gardening, learn a new language…maybe take up golf? Nah, just like the old timey toy, you can’t keep the feel-good melodies going by keeping the Jack-in-the-Box. The jester always needs to come out and play.
In addition to already announced dates — including sets at this year’s Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Primavera festivals — DeMarco will play some of his biggest headlining shows to date. Amphitheaters, concert halls, libraries, bandshells, casinos…the only place DeMarco won’t be playing this year is my back shed (barring a really well thought-out kidnapping plan). DeMarco has confirmed that a new album will be released in 2019 and details about it — the debut on his own Mac’s Record Label — are due soon. In the meantime, and for no specific reason whatsoever, here’s Mac answering questions and eating spicy wings on “Hot Ones:”
