Mount Kimbie announce North American tour dates, share new snugly track referencing an underrated garment, "Turtle Neck Man"
"Cheeeeeeese!"

Well, now that the first (and therefore, purest) form of dubstep has been bastardized by North Americans and effectively eliminated from the face of the music planet, critics and audiences alike can at least finally abstain from referring to Mount Kimbie as pioneers of the so-called “post-dubstep” movement. The inclination is understandable, given the UK duo’s prior affiliation with Scuba and his influential Hotflush label; but it’s been almost a decade since their debut album, and Mount Kimbie have moved on to their unorthodox mixture of Korg sounds and soul/rock/pop music.

Hence, despite dubstep singing its low-register swan song at some point in the recent past, Mount Kimbie are still touring! Dom Maker and Kai Campos released Love What Survives in September of last year, so presumably the bulk of their upcoming North American shows will feature songs from that album, despite James Blake, Mica Levi, and King Krule (who all appeared on the album) not being around in tow. Of course, totally DO NAHT mention dubstep if you converse with the band afterwards.

Also, if you have a Spotify account, here’s the previously unreleased track, “Turtle Neck Man” (feat. King Krule), which was recorded during the Love What Survives sessions.
