Parlophone to release insane 20-disc box set of Edith Piaf recordings for her birthday

Have you ever longed for a full-on immersive Edith Piaf experience? An unfettered 20+ hours of nothing but listening to the leeeeettle sparrow while you thumb dreamily through a deluxe 30-page book that contains a new biography and various photos? What if I told you that you could move tiny little Lego people into a pop-up of emblematic scenes from Edith Piaf’s life and envision yourself gleefully chattering and laughing over silly shared jokes with the legendary French chanteuse? WHAT IF?

Well, your dreams are coming true, ya freakin’ weirdo! Because Parlophone is releasing a 20-disc deluxe box set in honor of Piaf’s 100th birthday. It’ll be limited to 10,000 copies worldwide, so the above scenario only has a dim likelihood of occurring anywhere within a 50-mile radius of you… maybe. Anyway, all these glorious recordings have been remastered in high definition, using the original master tapes and vinyl pressings. You’ll also get rare recording sessions, rehearsals, a 1962 interview with Ms. Piaf, and live performances at the Paris Olympia (in 1955, 1958, 1961 and 1962), at the New York Carnegie Hall (in 1956 and 1957), as well as at the Paris Bobino in 1963.

The Integrale 2015 Limited Edition Box Set hits stores — and our hearts — on November 27. You can also get a digital version, but you have to make your own pop-up fantasy world for that one.
