Shackleton preps for a cold winter, dismisses firewood, releases Furnace Of Guts on Woe To The Septic Heart!

Sure, British explorer Ernest Shackleton has been hogging the search results ever since Yahoo and Google became a thing; but really, who’s more relevant in 2018: a man who was bestowed the highest national honors as a result of his proclaimed (and later disproven) ability to coherently converse with polar bears? Or a man who’s simultaneously stretching the boundaries of contemporary electronic music and recollecting humanity’s vigorously tribal origins?

The latter Shackleton was fairly consistent with EPs at the start of his musical career, but the last couple of years had the currently Berlin-based producer collaborating in long-form with Ernesto Tomasini, Vengeance Tenfold, and Anika on three separate full-length albums. They’re all wonderful and testament to Shackleton’s increasing prominence on an increasingly experimental scene. (Is that Björk I envision telepathically requesting his presence in dirty Icelandic? Could it…be?)

Well, it could be — but until those mental communiques become tangible to the rest us, Shackleton’s at least temporarily going back to his abbreviated roots. His Furnace Of Guts EP was recently surprised-released on his own Woe To The Septic Heart! label, and even though it’s only two (long) tracks long, you can tell that the guy won’t be abandoning the unique vocal inclusions any time soon. Has it really been that long since he advised us to “cancel cancel” our negative thoughts?

Anyway, listen to the EP’s titular track down below, and purchase the whole thing here.
