Waxahatchee announces second world tour of 2015, because one just wasn't masochistic enough

So, you think people who start rock bands and dick around with guitars in their hands are just lazy a-holes who are avoiding “working real jobs” for a living? Well… actually, that’s pretty right-on, ordinarily. But not this time! I mean, remember back in April when Katie Crutchfield and her “indie-rox-4-ever” project Waxahatchee released their pretty dang decent sophomore album Ivy Trip on Merge and then proceeded to tour the entire world for three or four months in support of the dang thing? Sounds grueling, yeah?

Well, somehow, either she doesn’t remember doing that the first time or she’s just the hardest-working person in show business (quite feasible now that James Brown is dead), because the poor kid is headed back out on the road this October to do the same insane thing all over again. Foolish? Maybe. Hardcore? Hardcore. Either way though, I think the main differences this time around are that this time fellow Philadelphian Kurt Vile will be joining in for some of the dates, and that it’ll quite possibly be a whole lot less nice outside by the time she finishes up.

Godspeed out there, Katie. Meanwhile, I, for one, am looking a little more forward to waking up and “working my real job” tomorrow than I was a minute ago. Anyone else?
