Wild Nothing to release new album from captivity in August, shares first single and fall tour dates

I don’t know about you, but I like my day-glo, 80s-inspired new-wave avant pop best when it’s HOT AS FUCK outside.

Which is why it’s SO GREAT to hear that Jack Tatum — the handsome, winsome, L.A.-based devil behind Wild Nothing — will be releasing his followup to 2016’s Life of Pause at the ass-end of August.

The new one is called Indigo, and GET THIS: to make it, Tatum “confronted the Man vs. Machine dichotomy” by “seizing on the surrounding synergy,” “writ[ing] pieces of songs on guitars, with keyboards, ‘in the box’ with plug-ins and programs,” buil[ing] a series of highly detailed demos,” and then “record[ing] the final package swiftly with a live band in a studio.” #ParadigmShift!

The harrowing and unprecedented results are due August 31 via Captured Tracks (by which time it should be delectably hot and sweaty outside). And…I know this is going to BLOW YOU AWAY, but: you can actually “pre-order” the album (yeah, BEFORE August 31 even GETS here!) by clicking here. AND! You can listen to one of the new songs off it — the opening track “Letting Go” — right now down below.

Take a moment to gather the pieces of your exploded mind before scrolling down through all these juicy deliverables down below, followed by pulpy itinerary for Tatum’s planned fall tour of North America. It won’t be as satisfyingly hot n’ sweaty outside by then, unfortunately; but eh, you’ve gotta work with what you got sometimes.
